2016 A Successful Red Bank CROP Walk
A big Thank You for your support of the 36st Red Bank CROP Walk on October 16, 2016! The CROP (Community Responding to Overcome Poverty) Hunger Walk is an annual event organized by Church World Service (CWS) to fight hunger locally and around the world. Red Bank CROP Walk, one of almost 100 HUNGER WALKS in New Jersey, is the state's largest and most successful walk. Starting from Red Bank Regional High School, the Red Bank CROP Walk is a 5-Mile Walk/Run around Red Bank area. It was slightly warm fall weather and the atmosphere was fun with music and ice cream at the end of the walk! Last year, the Red Bank CROP Walk raised $116,000 and collected over 10,000 lbs. of peanut butter, rice, and beans for 15 local food pantries including our own food pantry. 2016 goals for Red Bank CROP Walk are $120,000 and 12,000 lbs. of food.
With your support, our Church has 22 walkers, including 8 from youth group, participating this year and we raise $1,925! Mission Commission thanks every walker, your sponsorship and particular youth group’s continued support.
